Welcome to Patient Connect - 2.0 Update
Two months ago, we launched Patient Connect, and we’re thrilled to have welcomed over 1,000 users to the platform since then. We’ve received valuable feedback on how to make Patient Connect even better, and today, we’re excited to introduce a major feature update based on your suggestions. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new.
Introducing Knowledge Connect
Knowledge Connect is your one-stop hub for information and education about multiple myeloma. We have developed a Multiple Myeloma Patient Guide to guide people to questions that, for instance, they may not have even thought about amidst the shock of a diagnosis. If you’re looking for more insights, you can also join group discussions on your topic of interest, where fellow members can share their experiences and knowledge. With Knowledge Connect, we aim to help you find the answers you need—quickly and easily.
Introducing Group Chats
You’ve just learned how you can join group chats related to your questions of interest. But we didn’t stop there. Now, you can also join group chats based on shared patient journeys. If you’ve mapped out your journey on the platform, we’ll connect you with others who have similar experiences, allowing you to chat as a group. With this new feature, we hope to make finding important information faster and easier for everyone.
Introducing Enhanced Messaging and a Public Announcements Chat
When we first launched, we introduced a secure messaging system so members could communicate privately. Now, we’ve upgraded messaging to include new features that improve usability and convenience. Here’s what we’ve added:
Email notifications for unread messages
The ability to edit, copy, and delete messages
Reply to previous messages
Emojis for more expressive communication
And this is just the beginning! We’re also working on features like language translation to make messaging even more versatile.
A New Design and Improved Home Page
While our platform was originally designed with desktop users in mind, we quickly noticed that over 80% of our visitors access Patient Connect on mobile devices. That’s why we’ve optimized the mobile experience, introducing a new design with intuitive swipe and touch controls, so you can navigate and use the platform with ease.
We’ve also revamped the home page. Previously, it featured nearby visitors and care centers, but now we’ve added a public chat board where members can see the latest community news and events. You’ll also find a Knowledge Connect widget highlighting trending topics.
We hope this new home page becomes a vibrant hub for connecting with both fellow patients and valuable resources—all in one place.
A Note of Thanks
We’re already hard at work on the next update, driven by the valuable feedback we’ve received from our community. We’re exploring exciting new possibilities, such as expanding to cities outside of the U.S. and including support for other disease communities.
These updates wouldn’t have been possible without your proactive feedback. We’re always listening, and we’ll continue to prioritize the needs of our members as we grow. Please feel free to share your thoughts, questions, ideas, and concerns with us—your input helps us stay connected to what matters most to you.
We sincerely hope these new features enhance your experience. On behalf of the entire Polygon Health team: Thank you for being a part of our community. We wish you all the best!
